Dr. Daniel Nam graduated from UCLA with a BA in Piano performance in 1996 and then UOP School of Dentistry in 2002. Currently he has private practices in SF and Oakland. He is also the Director of Dental Services at the Berkeley Free Clinic where he has been serving homeless and low income families since 2003. Dr. Nam is Staff dentist at Alta Bates Medical Center- Summit and Ashby campuses working with the Emergency Department, ICU, oncology and rehab departments. He is also on the Clinical faculty at UOP School of Dentistry where he teaches on Monday evenings. Dr. Nam is committed to alleviating suffering from dental pain, trauma, and fear. Amy Blake joined our practice in July 2016. She graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2015 and then completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in the Bay Area. Dr. Blake comes from an extensive background of volunteering with undeserved populations and has a strong interest in public health. She volunteered for more than 5 years at the Berkeley Free Clinic, and has volunteered at many large scale free health care events providing direct services to patients. Besides her work in the practice, she also works at two local community clinics, maintaining her commitment to helping vulnerable populations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and going to the beach with her husband and their two dogs, cooking and baking, knitting and other crafts.
Dr. Christina Chen is a proud Bay Area native and an associate at our practice since 2019. She received her Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. As an undergraduate, Dr. Chen volunteered with Dr. Nam and Dr. Blake at the Berkeley Free Clinic and worked at our practice as a dental assistant.
Dr. Chen earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, San Francisco and completed a one-year residency at the University of Nevada School of Dental Medicine in Las Vegas, where she provided comprehensive dental care for medically complex patients and patients with special needs. In addition to her work at our practice, Dr. Chen continues to provide dental care to underserved patients at a community clinic here in Oakland.
When Dr. Chen is not in the office, you'll find her urban hiking or experimenting in the kitchen.
Erin is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Sociology & Critical Social Thought. She has an extensive customer service background, which has evolved into a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Originally from the Half Moon Bay coastside, she spends as much time as possible at the beach with her husband and two kids. With a mocha in hand to satisfy her sweet tooth and kids in tow, Erin is regular at the San Francisco Zoo & Cal Academy in Golden Gate Park.
Kat graduated in Dental Assisting school in 2009, but found she was more passionate for managing and learning the business aspect of dental offices instead. She has helped dentists from San Diego to LA, San Francisco, and now Dr. Nam's team here in Oakland. Raised in San Diego by 2 Naval parents with 2 siblings, her new home and love is the Bay Area. Kat is certified in Hatha Yoga, and in her free time enjoys spending time with her spouse Ryan, and teaching yoga and spiritual healing. She is devoted to helping others have the best in Mind, Body, and Soul.
Jared is from Union City, CA and received his B.S. in Biological Science with a minor in Art from Holy Names University in 2015. He was the first intern at Just Health 510, where he discovered that he wanted to join our dental team to provide outstanding dental care to the community. He is an avid bay area sports team fanatic, enjoys traveling with his family, and is into watercolor painting. He aspires to attend dental school in the near future.
Christine is from San Jose, CA and received a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a strong interest in public health and is a current volunteer at the Berkeley Free Clinic. She plans to start dental school in the fall of 2020. Christine enjoys cooking, live music, going to museums, and being outdoors in her spare time.
