Dr. Daniel Nam

Dr. Daniel Nam graduated from UCLA with a BA in Piano performance in 1996 and then UOP School of Dentistry in 2002. Currently he has private practices in SF and Oakland. He is also the Director of Dental Services at the Berkeley Free Clinic where he has been serving homeless and low income families since 2003. Dr. Nam is Staff dentist at Alta Bates Medical Center- Summit and Ashby campuses working with the Emergency Department, ICU, oncology and rehab departments. He is also on the Clinical faculty at UOP School of Dentistry where he teaches on Monday evenings. Dr. Nam is committed to alleviating suffering from dental pain, trauma, and fear. Dr. Amy Blake

Dr. Amy Blake

Amy Blake joined our practice in July 2016. She graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2015 and then completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in the Bay Area. Dr. Blake comes from an extensive background of volunteering with undeserved populations and has a strong interest in public health. She volunteered for more than 5 years at the Berkeley Free Clinic, and has volunteered at many large scale free health care events providing direct services to patients. Besides her work in the practice, she also works at two local community clinics, maintaining her commitment to helping vulnerable populations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and going to the beach with her husband and their two dogs, cooking and baking, knitting and other crafts.

Dr. Christina Chen

Dr. Christina Chen

Dr. Christina Chen is a proud Bay Area native and an associate at our practice since 2019. She received her Bachelor's degree in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. As an undergraduate, Dr. Chen volunteered with Dr. Nam and Dr. Blake at the Berkeley Free Clinic and worked at our practice as a dental assistant.

Dr. Chen earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of California, San Francisco and completed a one-year residency at the University of Nevada School of Dental Medicine in Las Vegas, where she provided comprehensive dental care for medically complex patients and patients with special needs. In addition to her work at our practice, Dr. Chen continues to provide dental care to underserved patients at a community clinic here in Oakland.

When Dr. Chen is not in the office, you'll find her urban hiking or experimenting in the kitchen.

Office Manager

Erin is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Sociology & Critical Social Thought. She has an extensive customer service background, which has evolved into a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Originally from the Half Moon Bay coastside, she spends as much time as possible at the beach with her husband and two kids. With a mocha in hand to satisfy her sweet tooth and kids in tow, Erin is regular at the San Francisco Zoo & Cal Academy in Golden Gate Park.

Kane graduated from dental assisting school at Alameda College school in 2003. She is an Oakland native and has been working with Dr. Nam since 2005, just celebrating her 11th year in May. Some of her interest includes hiking, traveling, and Japanese food!

Insurance Coordinator

Tina was born and raised in San Francisco and currently resides in Oakland. She attended George Washington High School (Go Eagles!) then undergrad at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) Tina loves coffee. She is often spotted strolling in to the office with her second or third cup in hand. Hiking Machu Picchu & vacation in Santorini are on her vacation bucket list.

Dental Assistant

Christine is from San Jose, CA and received a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has a strong interest in public health and is a current volunteer at the Berkeley Free Clinic. She plans to start dental school in the fall of 2020. Christine enjoys cooking, live music, going to museums, and being outdoors in her spare time.

Dental Assistant

Brian is a recent graduate at the University of California, Berkeley and is currently applying for a dental program for the 2021 application cycle. Born in a small farming village in China, he immigrated to America in 2003 and has lived and attended school in Oakland and Alameda. With his background in healthcare, tech, and finance, he plans on improving his local community and working towards a sustainable solution for healthcare in the future. When not at the office, you can find him volunteering at the Berkeley Free Clinic as a dental coordinator or stuffing his face in books at the library. He is an avid fan of basketball (Go Dubs!) and enjoys biking and trying out new recipes in his free time.
