Dr. Daniel Nam graduated from UCLA with a BA in Piano performance in 1996 and then UOP School of Dentistry in 2002. Currently he has private practices in SF and Oakland. He is also the Director of Dental Services at the Berkeley Free Clinic where he has been serving homeless and low income families since 2003. Dr. Nam is Staff dentist at Alta Bates Medical Center- Summit and Ashby campuses working with the Emergency Department, ICU, oncology and rehab departments. He is also on the Clinical faculty at UOP School of Dentistry where he teaches on Monday evenings. Dr. Nam is committed to alleviating suffering from dental pain, trauma, and fear. Amy Blake joined our practice in July 2016. She graduated from the University of the Pacific in 2015 and then completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in the Bay Area. Dr. Blake comes from an extensive background of volunteering with undeserved populations and has a strong interest in public health. She volunteered for more than 5 years at the Berkeley Free Clinic, and has volunteered at many large scale free health care events providing direct services to patients. Besides her work in the practice, she also works at two local community clinics, maintaining her commitment to helping vulnerable populations. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking and going to the beach with her husband and their two dogs, cooking and baking, knitting and other crafts.
Erin is a graduate of San Francisco State University with a degree in Sociology & Critical Social Thought. She has an extensive customer service background, which has evolved into a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Originally from the Half Moon Bay coastside, she spends as much time as possible at the beach with her husband and two kids. With a mocha in hand to satisfy her sweet tooth and kids in tow, Erin is regular at the San Francisco Zoo & Cal Academy in Golden Gate Park.
Taylor is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Foothill College in Mountain View. She was born and raised in Grass Valley, California and has been living in the Bay Area for 8 years. She has been working with our team here in Oakland since 2015 and aims to provide the highest level of care for each of her patients. She is very passionate about volunteering and providing dental care to underserved populations. In August of 2014 she traveled to a small village in Honduras, Central America to provide dental care. In her spare time, Taylor enjoys playing soccer, paddle boarding , watching movies, and playing with her dog.
Kat graduated in Dental Assisting school in 2009, but found she was more passionate for managing and learning the business aspect of dental offices instead. She has helped dentists from San Diego to LA, San Francisco, and now Dr. Nam's team here in Oakland. Raised in San Diego by 2 Naval parents with 2 siblings, her new home and love is the Bay Area. Kat is certified in Hatha Yoga, and in her free time enjoys spending time with her spouse Ryan, and teaching yoga and spiritual healing. She is devoted to helping others have the best in Mind, Body, and Soul.
Kevin hails from Los Angeles, CA and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2013 with a degree in Integrative Biology. He volunteers weekly at Berkeley Free Clinic as a dental coordinator where he helps manage provision of care to underserved communities of the Bay Area. He also works as a dental lab technician, volunteers at Children’s Hospital Oakland, and maintains active membership in his fraternity, Theta Delta Chi. His hobbies include snowboarding and working on cars. Kevin is currently pursuing admission to dental school.
Yoona is currently an undergraduate at UC Berkeley studying Molecular Environmental Biology. She found her passion for dentistry through volunteering at the Berkeley Free Clinic where she joins other students and professionals from all over the bay area to provide free dental services for the underserved community. Driven by her passion and experience, Yoona plans to graduate Berkeley in 2019 and attend dental school in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
